Cairo and Alexandria, a 2-day tour, is a unique opportunity to discover the eastern heart of Egypt and take home unforgettable memories. This excursion combines visits to two capitals of Egypt: Cairo of today and Alexandria of thousands of years ago. Both cities were home to artifacts that were once among the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.
Day 1
The transfer will pick you up from the hotel around 1:00 AM and then from Sharm to Cairo. You will travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned bus with a toilet and comfortable seats. A tour guide and security guard (representative of the tourist police) will accompany you. The journey will take approximately 5-6 hours.
A Russian-speaking guide will meet you in Cairo, and your tour begins with a visit to the National Museum of Ancient Egypt—which is the unrivaled custodian of the world’s largest archaeological collection. The museum houses approximately 160,000 artifacts, including the contents of Tutankhamun’s tomb and mummies. A 40-minute cruise on the Nile—for relaxation and fantastic photos, away from the city’s noise, on a felucca sailboat (optional, for an additional fee of 10$). Lunch at a scenic spot in a restaurant on the banks of the Nile (buffet). Next, you will see Cairo’s main attraction—the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. It consists of: the only surviving of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World—the Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. The Great Sphinx statue is located east of the Pyramid of Khafre, facing the Nile and the rising sun. Check-in at the hotel.
Day 2
Check out of the Cairo hotel after breakfast at 7:00 AM. The trip to Alexandria will take approximately 2 hours (200 km). You will see the sights of this beautiful city, which combines cultures from different eras. It was dedicated to the Muses, the nine goddesses of the arts. The Coptic Patriarchate - the place where the great apostle Mark is buried. The Mosque of Mursi Abu el-Abbas.
